With their performances in Amazon Prime Video’s Panchayat, actors Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav have been winning hearts. Now, an image of the duo, allegedly from 1982, is making the rounds on the internet. A young Neena and Raghubir are seen holding microphones in an old photograph.
“1982-2022,” a Twitter user wrote alongside a photo. “How it started vs how it is going,” Amazon Prime’s official Twitter account wrote alongside the photo.” “She is so beautiful,” said one person who complimented Neena.” Many others added heart emojis to the comments section of the post, while one simply wrote, “Time flies.”
Neena plays the village sarpanch in the show, and Raghubir Yadav plays her husband. They previously worked together in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021). Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra played the lead roles in the film.
Panchayat is a comedy-drama series directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar. It follows Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who joins the secretary of a panchayat office in a remote village named Phulera in Uttar Pradesh due to a lack of better job options. Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, and Sanvikaa also appear in the series.
The eight-episode series, which premiered on Prime Video in April 2020, was an instant hit and received such a positive response that it was renewed for a second season.
