Delhi Fire Department officials said that early on Thursday morning, a fire broke out in the Lajpat Rai market in Chandni Chowk, opposite the Red Fort.
They said there were no reports of casualties. A senior firefighting official said that a call about the fire at Lajpat Rai Market was received at about 4:43 am, and 11 fire trucks were rushed to the scene.
He said that the fire has been extinguished and the cooling process is underway. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the official said.
