A quote we all know. Our elders often tell us how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. Waking up early, getting good sleep,  eating good food, exercising regularly, and absorbing sunlight are some of the important components of healthy living.  All of these are equally important but the kind of food we take contributes a lot in deciding our health status. Today we are going to discuss the various types of nutrients that a body needs to survive.

Food should contain a good amount of nutrients to help our body fight and grow. It is important for us to know about these nutrients, to know about the body so that we can decide what we should eat and what we shouldn’t. There are 6 important types of nutrients that we need to take to maintain good health but vitamins and minerals are considered the most important. these are also called micronutrients as we take them in  a small quantity

 Vitamins help in boosting the immune system, strengthening our teeth and bones, good skin, healthy blood etc. vitamin A vitamin D vitamin E vitamin K Vitamin B1 vitamin B12 Vitamin B6 vitamin B2 vitamin B5 vitamin B3 vitamin B9 and Vitamin B7 are the 13 most important vitamins for us, vegetables, fruits, lean proteins are some of the rich sources of these vitamins.

 Other micronutrients are minerals that maintain the water level in our body. maintaining good skin, healthy hair strengthens our bones etc.  Some of the important minerals are magnesium, calcium, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Sodium, Potassium and chloride fruits and green vegetables. red meat, seafood, milk, dry fruits, beans are some of the important sources of these minerals 

Another important nutrient is the protein which helps us in the growth of muscles, bones, hair and skin. Protein also contributes in making antibodies and hormones.  Meat and fish are the richest sources of protein and for vegetarians, it is dairy products, grains, dry fruits and other plant-based products.
