Former KKR player offered ₹40 lakhs to fix matches

Rajagopal Sathish, 40, complained to police in Bengaluru, claiming he was given Rs 4 million to fix the match. According to the Indian Express, Satish told police that an Instagram user named Bunny Anand found him.

The report further stated that Sathish did not take the money.

“On January 3, a man named Bunny Anand contacted Satish on Instagram and messaged him to induce him to pay Rs 4 million and told him that two players had agreed to the offer,” the indictment reads.

Sathish played for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy and was also part of IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders.

He currently plays for Chepauk Super Gillies in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

According to the report, police believe the money was used to repair TNPL games, before adding that the batsmen had also approached the BCCI, the governing body of cricket, in this regard.
