The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has designed, built, financed, operated, and transferred RFQ and RFP to develop the 594 km Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj on public-private partnership (PPP) mode under the last fortnight. Applications are invited. (DBFOT) basis.
This six-lane access-controlled expressway will have a 120-meter ROW (right of way) and may be expanded to 8 lanes in the future. More design details can be seen here.
On the Meerut-end, the expressway will be connected to Delhi – the upcoming Phase 5 of the Meerut Expressway. At that stage the construction of 14.60 km of Zainuddinpur for the Zahidpur connector and bidding for the same is currently underway.
Phase 1 of the Ganga Expressway is divided into 4 sections for development with each section having 3 civil packages. In Phase 2, the expressway will be extended 110 km up to Tigri on the Uttar Pradesh / Uttarakhand border and 314 km up to Ballia near Varanasi. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has not been finalized.
