Shooting an amateur video brandishing guns and declaring himself a would-be ‘don’ proved costly for a man after he was traced and arrested by police. The accused has been identified as Ritik Malik, a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused also circulated his video on social media and declared that he wants to become a notorious West UP don, according to a report in NDTV online. Malik also used a Bollywood score in the background of the video to give it a spin. However, after the video was circulated and police came to know about it, Malik was promptly arrested.

Ghaziabad SP (Rural) Iraj Raja tweeted on the man’s arrest and quoted from a 1994 movie ‘Vijaypath’ saying, ‘A great man’ has landed in jail due to his love for guns. The SP said it’s a big deal that he has accepted his mistake and, in a bit of sarcasm, wished him ‘good luck’. The SP (Rural) also tweeted two photographs of the accused holding the guns. In the first image, the caption said, “Earlier, I wanted to become the ‘don’ of west UP”. The other caption on the image said, “I don’t want to become a don. I want to live a normal life. It was a mistake.” Meanwhile, netizens have praised police for taking prompt action, while others laughed at the accused.
