Goa Assembly Polls: PM Modi to hold rally in Mapusa on Thursday

Ahead of the Goa parliament vote, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a grand rally in Mapusa on Thursday, according to a press release issued by the Goa Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The press release added that the Prime Minister will speak at a large public meeting at Bodgeshwar Maidan at 5pm a day before the polls close in Goa.

According to the release, arrangements for all dignitaries on and off the podium have been made. “Beautiful lighting and huge panels on the grounds have become the main attraction. Welcome boards have been erected all over Mapusa,” it said.

“The prime minister’s rally drew the attention of the public as well as the state and national media,” it added.

The BJP informed that the party has taken all measures in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. “While measures are in place for COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, we also urge everyone to follow protocols to stop COVID-19,” it said.

Goa will go to a parliamentary vote on February 14. Counting will take place on March 10.
