The Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) has officially launched in India. Google’s new Smart Display has 50 percent more bass than the previous generation and features an extra microphone, which Google claims will lead to a “more responsive Google Assistant.”

The Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen is priced at Rs 7,999 in India. It will be available in Chalk and Charcoal colours and available through Flipkart, Tata Cliq and Reliance Digital. The Nest Hub 2nd Gen will be available in other retail stores later this year.

The Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen is a smart display with an infinity screen that doubles as a digital photo frame when not in use. The new Nest Hub also features the same audio technology as the Google Nest Audio, delivering a 50 percent boost in bass compared to the original Nest Hub.

The Nest Hub 2nd Gen also features multi-room control, allowing the smart display to be combined with other Nest devices such as speakers, Chromecast, and other smart displays. The Nest Hub will work with Matter, a new connectivity standard created by the Connectivity Standards Alliance, to make it easier to control a connected home.

Google’s upcoming smart display supports Apple Music, Gaana, JioSaavn, Spotify and YouTube Music. The Nest Hub can also be used to stream video via Netflix and YouTube. The second-generation Nest Hub also has no camera, and the microphone can be physically turned off for privacy.

The new Nest Hub has a third microphone for better sound pickup. Google also said that the second-generation Nest Hub is made using recycled materials, and its plastic mechanical parts contain 54 percent recycled post-consumer plastic.
