Government banks of the country recovered 1996.46 crores from customers. This recovery from customers has been made in the financial year 2018-19. According to the information, this recovery from customers has been made as a penalty for not keeping a minimum monthly balance in the savings account. This information has been given by the Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur in the Lok Sabha.
