According to news agencies, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khatar, is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. It further stated that the meeting might be held at 10.30 in the morning.
This meeting was held in the context of Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of the repeal of the three agricultural laws. This was the first anniversary of the farmers’ protest, and Samkyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) issued a protest call on November 26th on the first anniversary of the farmers’ protest. The farmers refused to end their protests. Although they were assured by Prime Minister Modi, they expressed that they did not trust the Prime Minister and would only end their turmoil after the parliament passed a bill to repeal the agricultural law.
Haryana and Punjab saw the beginning of farmers’ protests immediately after the three bills were passed by their parliament in September last year. Since then, protests have been going on.
The cabinet meeting will be held at the Civil Secretariat of Haryana at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
Qatar welcomed Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of the repeal of the center’s three agricultural laws on Friday last week and urged farmers to end their protests.
“I will urge the farmers sitting on the Delhi border to immediately end the protest and return to their homes, because ordinary people also face a lot of difficulties due to this commotion. Now, we should take a positive attitude towards this issue,” Khattar said in the official release.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister’s decision shows that maintaining the public’s interest is most important to him.
The three disputed laws are the Farmers’ Agricultural Products Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Law of 2020, the Farmers (Enabling and Protection) Price Guarantee Agreement, the Farm Services Law of 2020, and the Basic Commodities Law of 2020. (Amendment) Law.
The Union Cabinet approved the repeal of these three laws on Tuesday. The 2021 Farm Law Repeal Act has been introduced and passed. This is one of 26 new bills on the government’s agenda.
