Hemant Soren, the face of the chief ministerial post of the Congress-JMM-RJD grand alliance in Jharkhand, has won from Dumka and Barhet seats. Soren defeated BJP candidate Louise Marandi by 13188 votes in Dumka seat while in Barhet seat he defeated BJP candidate Simone Molto by 25740 votes. Hemant was also victorious in the 2014 assembly elections on Barhet seat.
