Which particular feud never seems to end? Naturally, the beef in hip-hop. Following a protracted verbal sparring match between Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and other rapping pals and rivals, it appears that the ladies of the hip-hop community have taken over.
Bianca Miquela Landrau, also known by her stage name Bia, 32, deconstructed Cardi B in a brand-new diss single titled “Sue Me,” which was released on Instagram early on Sunday morning.
The former member of Sisterhood of Hip Hop severely criticised Cardi, alleging that she had an affair with her husband, Offset, at their residence. Furious at the ‘WAP’ hitmaker, Bia spit out, ‘I wrote all my verses I can do this s–t for hours / Put it on your hubby since you love lyin’ on your vows / Put it on your name since you so gangsta like your f–kin’ pals’.
Additionally, Bia hinted that the 31-year-old singer of “Bodak Yellow” doesn’t write her own music. Put another way, she makes fun of Cardi’s appearance and speech pattern in the song.
The Cardi B-Bia feud: why did it explode?
Their feud first got out of hand in March when the rapper from “Whole Lotta Money” attacked the latter for allegedly ripping off her songs. After Cardi B responded cryptically to a tweet accusing Bia of influencing her music and image, the “Sue Me” rapper stoked the beginnings of what eventually erupted into a full-blown fight. In response to @Pretie_brown’s tweet, which stated, “But Bia is definitely on Cardi’s mood board alot,” Bia appeared to agree with the assertions made, responding with three weird expressions.
Strangely, this remark was made over two years after she tweeted in 2021, “Congrats to @iamcardib.” Shattering stereotypes for the boys She then continued, saying, “If you’re not inspired, you’re not paying attention.” At the very least, you can admire someone’s contributions, growth, and hard ethic. And in my ten years of writing, what she has accomplished is NOT simple.
Cardi B presumably took Bia’s accusations of copying her look seriously, so she was prepared with a retort. The “I Like It” rapper responded to Bia by teasing her with a verse on Glorilla and Meghan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be (Remix),” which was made available on Friday.”She did what? I guess I’m a teacher since you want to sub for me,” Never knew / Thought she was at Ikea on a shelf / Hoped she would say that when I saw her / Bitch, please, don’t let anyone be ya.
Why is “Sue Me” the name of Bia’s song?
Her strong remarks sparked debate regarding their reference to Bia, with some fans theorising that “be ya” was a pun on the 32-year-old rapper’s name. These remarks, meanwhile, did not inspire Bia to respond to Cardi B with the same ferocity. Following Cardi’s live Instagram post a few hours earlier, in which she candidly addressed the Bia chapter, came the song “Sue Me.” Claiming that she wasn’t imitating Bia’s look in any kind, Cardi further claimed that they had gotten on the phone to talk things out, but things didn’t work out as planned.
There is nothing about her that I enjoy, so I’m shocked that she believes I’m copying or stealing from her. Her style and songs don’t appeal to me.Cardi spit out, “I don’t even see the b***h,” during the Instagram Live. She also put a stop to Bia’s suggestions that she cheated on Offset, threatening to sue the latter. ‘Sue Me’ was so born.
In terms of Cardi’s relationship with Offset, the two are secretly married in 2017 and have two children together, Wave, 2, and Kulture, 5. They broke up in December 2023, but it’s been reported that they started dating again a month ago.
