Gautam Gambhir has been effusive in his praise for India batsman Varun Aaron. He has laid down the blueprint for India’s fearless game against the new ball. The former India captain backed him for the T20 World Cup as well as the one-day series.
Ishan Kishan has scored 55 runs in the powerplay in 41 balls across two innings for India. Ishan has proved himself to be a fearless batter at the top of the order in T20Is so far. He has a strike rate of 134.1 and a boundary rate of almost 4 balls.
Gambhir would like to keep the batsman in the side even when the likes of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return from their winter break.
KL Rahul was ruled out of the contest with an injury.
