On Monday in Mumbai, veteran vocalist Asha Bhosle met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. HT Mumbai posted a video of the two of them lounging on a couch on X, the erstwhile Twitter platform.
Asha donned a cream saree with flowers for the occasion. In the 1961 movie Hum Dono, she also performed the song Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar. Both Asha and the home minister grinned on the video.
Zanai Bhosle, Asha’s granddaughter, also posted images to Instagram. Amit Shah and Zanai exchanged handshakes in one of the pictures. I saw her wearing a suit. Asha grinned as she gave them a look. “Fantastic way to start the day (folded hands emoji)!” was her caption for the photo. “Blessed day,” she remarked when she posted the picture to her Instagram Stories. On Instagram, Asha reposted the original post.
