The decision was made after a large number of ITRs submitted electronically in the 2020-21 fiscal year are still awaiting processing by the income tax department, because they need to receive a valid ITR-V form from CPC, Bengaluru or CPC in a statement Zhong said that the relevant taxpayers.
CBDT will relax the submission of ITR-V/electronic verification at one time to resolve taxpayers’ complaints related to unverified ITRs in the 2020-21 fiscal year and regulate such ITRs. Digital signature, taxpayers need to verify the income tax return within 120 days from the date of uploading it.
Taxpayers can complete the verification process through Aadhaar OTP, log in to the electronic filing account through online banking, and mail the officially signed ITR-V entity copy to the centralized processing center of the income tax department in Bangalore.
