India has reported 2,86,384 new Covid-19 cases and 573 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to an announcement by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday morning. The country’s positivity rate soared from 16.16% to 19.59%.
On the other hand, the weekly positivity rate was 17.75%.
Active cases in India remained at the 2.2 million mark with 22,02,472 infections or 5.46% of total infections.
A total of 3,06,357 people have recovered since yesterday, bringing the recovery rate to 93.33%. To date, more than 37.6 million people have recovered from the disease.
As many as 14,62,261 tests were performed in the past 24 hours and 22,35,267 people were vaccinated. This includes 2,65,238 booster doses and 1,79,381 injections in the 15-18 age group.
