India today recorded 12,729 new COVID-19 cases, an increase in a single day, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,43,33,754. The number of active cases rose to 1,48,922.
Data show that the number of deaths due to infection has risen to 4,59,873, and the number of deaths recorded every day is 221.
The number of people recovering in the country today has increased by 12,165, bringing the total number of people recovering from infection to 3,37,24,959.
The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 27 consecutive days, and the number of new cases per day for 130 consecutive days was less than 50,000.
