The Ministry of Health of India said today that India has added 10,549 new coronavirus cases and 488 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s cumulative number of cases to 3,45,55,431, while the number of deaths climbed to 4,67,468.
The number of active cases in India is now 1,10,133, the lowest level in 539 days, accounting for 0.32% of the total number of infections. The national recovery rate is 98.33%, the highest level since March 2020.
The number of new infections of new coronary pneumonia was less than 20,000 for 49 consecutive days, and the number of new cases per day for 152 consecutive days was less than 50,000.
To date, India has received more than 1.2 billion doses of Covid vaccine.
Of the 488 new deaths recorded today, 384 were in Kerala and 50 were from Maharashtra. Kerala has a record of 384 deaths, of which 328 were designated as Covid deaths after the state government received an appeal in accordance with the center’s new guidelines and the Supreme Court’s instructions.
