Prime Minister Narendra Modi described India’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign as a journey from “anxiety to assurance” that made the country stronger and attributed its success to people’s commitment to vaccines. Trust, even though “every effort has created distrust and panic.”
“When everyone has ownership, nothing is impossible. Our medical staff travel across hills and rivers across difficult geographic areas to vaccinate people. Our youth, social workers, healthcare workers, society, and Religious leaders, because India faces a small number of vaccines, all this is commendable for hesitating compared to developed countries,” Prime Minister Modi wrote in a commentary one day after the cumulative vaccine dose exceeded the milestone of Rs 1 crore
