The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notified on Friday that India had reported 15,786 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours. Among these new infections, Kerala has reported 8,733 cases of COVID-19. Currently, the number of active cases in India is 1,75,745, the lowest level in 232 days. Active cases account for less than 1% of the total number of cases in the country, and it is currently 0.51%. This is the lowest level since March 2020.
At the same time, India made a major achievement on Thursday, completing the work of vaccinating one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine to eligible beneficiaries.
