India Covid-19 update: Of the 24,354 cases, Kerala alone reported 13,834 cases, while Maharashtra reported 3,105 cases per day.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday that Delhi had recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, and India had reported 24,354 new cases and 234 deaths in 24 hours. The number of active cases decreased to 1,335 in one day.
Cumulatively, the number of active cases in India is 2,73,889, the lowest level in 197 days. Of the 24,354 cases, Kerala alone reported 13,834 cases, while Maharashtra reported 3,105 cases per day. Delhi has recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The death toll accounted for 1.33% of the total number of cases, and the recovery rate was 97.86%, which is the highest level since March last year. India has reported 25,455 recoveries in the past 24 hours. So far, the country has recovered 3,30,68,599 people from Covid-19. On Friday, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage rate in India exceeded 8.967 million (89,67,51,334). To date, 65,38,60,824 doses of the first dose have been vaccinated, and 24,28,90,510 doses of the second dose have been vaccinated at the same time.
Yesterday, India announced Covid-19 testing and quarantine rules for British people. All British nationals arriving in the country will be tested for COVID-19 and a mandatory 10-day quarantine. At the same time, as the festival approaches, Dr. Randeep Guleria, director of the All India Institute of Medical Research (AIIMS), called on people on Friday to be careful and comply with the COVID-19 protocol during this festival.
