India reported 42,015 new cases and 3,998 deaths in last 24 hours on Wednesday, according to data updated by the health ministry. The total recoveries have risen to 3,03,90,687, while death toll has reached 4,18,480 With the recovery rate currently at 97.36%, 36,977 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. India’s active caseload currently at 4,07,170, active cases constitute 1.30 percentof total cases Daily positivity rate stays at 2.27 percent, less than three percent for 30th consecutive days.
Weekly Positivity Rate remains below five percent, currently at 2.09 percent. With the combined efforts of state/UT and centre, testing capacity has substantially ramped up – 44.91 cr tests total conducted. In a statement on Tuesday, Union Health Ministry informed that more than 2.11 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and union territories, and private hospitals. Over 42.15 crore (42,15,43,730) vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories (UTs) so far, through all sources, and 71,40,000 doses are being supplied.
Of this, the total consumption, including wastage, is 40,03,50,489 doses, according to data available by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). It said that 2,11,93,241 balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and UTs, and private hospitals.As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Centre has been supporting states and UTs by providing them vaccines free of cost. In the new phase, the government will procure and supply at no cost 75 percent of the vaccines being produced in the country to states and UTs, according to the ministry.
