India reported 6,915 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking a significant drop in its daily surge. Tuesday’s figures are the lowest daily rise in nearly two months. On Monday, the country had logged 8,013 cases in a single day jump. It was the first time since December last year that the single-day spike was below the 10,000 mark.
Ther were 180 new fatalitie, most of which were recorded from Kerala (110). Twenty more was logged from Goa.
The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent
The active caseload declined to 92,472, after a reduction of 10,129, the ministry data also showed. It presently comprises 0.22 per cent of the total caseload.
The country’s Covid-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.59 per cent, the health ministry said. The cumulative number of people who have recuperated from the disease is at 4,23,24,550, the data showed. As the cases are falling steadily, the daily positivity rateis down to 0.77 per cent while the weekly positivity rates were recorded at 1.11 per cent.
