Instagram is testing a new feature that turns platform-posted videos into Reels. We are testing this functionality as part of our efforts to simplify and enhance the video experience on Instagram, a Meta spokeswoman was cited as saying in a TechCrunch article.
It’s unclear how it will affect the videos that are now on Instagram.
On Twitter, social media expert Matt Navarra posted a screenshot along with the statement, “Instagram is now making EVERY video a Reel.” According to news sources, Instagram intends to use the trial to increase video post engagement. Users can remix the videos with music to create unique Reels. Anyone can remix a Reel that has been uploaded to a public account, according to a TechCrunch report.
According to the company’s Q1 2022 financial release, Reels account for more than 20% of all Instagram usage. Since then, it has placed significant wagers on Reels. Last year, CEO Adam Mosseri declared that Instagram is no longer just a photo-sharing service and that the firm is instead concentrating on videos.
In order to comply with Apple’s revised App Store Review Guidelines, the social media app has included a new feature that enables iOS users to cancel or deactivate Instagram accounts inside the app. To remove or deactivate accounts in the past, customers had to check in using a web browser or a mobile device.
