Instagram Link Stickers allows users to add hyperlinks to Stories in the form of stickers, which are now available for everyone to use on popular photo sharing platforms.
Facebook’s social media platform announced the news via Twitter on October 27th. Instagram started testing link stickers in June, but so far, the feature is limited to verified accounts or accounts with a large number of followers. According to the social media giant, link stickers are useful for anyone from companies linking to their products to activists linking to external resources.
But Instagram says that anyone can benefit from link sharing and interact with their fans. It also stated that accounts that repeatedly share misinformation or hate speech will not be accessible. When Instagram announced the link sticker feature in June, the company emphasized that they are only used for Stories posts and stated that it has no plans to bring them to Instagram’s main feed or other parts of the app.
This is still the status quo today. But according to today’s news, link stickers are now broader than swiping up because the old feature is only available for verified accounts or accounts with more than 10,000 followers.
