iPhone Supplier Foxconn’s India Plant Workers Said to Be Hospitalised After Food Poisoning

A person familiar with the matter said that several employees of Foxconn’s India branch were hospitalized on Saturday due to food poisoning, which produces iPhones for Apple.

Another source said that food poisoning occurred in Foxconn’s dormitory earlier this week, where most employees live. The majority of the labor force of this Taiwanese manufacturer is female.

It is unclear how many workers are seriously ill and whether the incident will disrupt production at the Sriperum Budur factory on the outskirts of the southern city of Chennai.
