Three weeks before the 2024 season officially began, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the reigning champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), were dealt a serious setback. Due to a thumb injury, Devon Conway, the dependable opening batsman for the five-time champs, will be out until at least May.
In a recent three-match T20I series against Australia, Conway made an appearance for New Zealand but was injured in his left thumb. After testing, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has determined that the 32-year-old will have surgery, which would require him to miss at least eight weeks of play.
