J&K: One child dead, 6 others injured in blast at BJP worker’s house in Rajouri; PAFF claims responsibility

A four-year-old child has been killed and six people were injured after a blast took place at the residence of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, the police said on Friday. “It is being seen that where was grenade hurled from.

Police lodged an FIR. One child died, seven people are injured. All of them belong to one family. An investigation is underway,” Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC Rajouri as saying.

The child was among the seven members of BJP leader Jasbir Singh’s family who were injured in the attack on his house in the Khandli area of the district last night. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to officials.

Meanwhile, the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) terror wing PAFF has now claimed responsibility for the attack. The terror outfit People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) has now issued a warning as well and said that they will strike anytime. Terming the incident an act of cowardice, Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina said terror attacks on BJP leaders were being orchestrated by Pakistan. “We strongly condemn the attack. Police should immediately arrest the terrorists responsible for it,” he said.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha today strongly condemned the attack on the house of the BJP leader and said those behind the heinous act will be brought to justice soon.
