Javelin thrower Jhajharia wins silver at Paralympics after winning gold in 2004 and 2016

In the Tokyo Paralympics, India has won four medals since the start of the day. Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Gurjar have given India double success in Javelin Throw.

Jhajharia won the javelin throw silver medal in the F46 category of javelin throw with a distance of 64.35 meters. This is also Jhajharia’s personal best score.

This is Jhajharia’s third medal in Paralympic Games. Prior to this, he had won gold medals in the 2004 Athens Paralympics and the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

On the other hand, Sundar Gurjar won the bronze medal in the same category by throwing javelin up to a distance of 64.01. Earlier this morning para shooter Avani Lekhara won the gold medal for India, while Yogesh Kathunia won the silver medal in the discus throw.

India’s para-athletes had won two silver medals yesterday as well. This is also Jhajharia’s personal best score.

This is Jhajharia’s third medal in Paralympic Games.
