On Wednesday, the JNU administration decided at its Academic Council meeting to admit admissions to its various programmes through the 2022-2023 General University Entrance Examination.
Jayant Tripathi, director of admissions, issued a note noting that the proposal to adopt CUET received “overwhelming support” at the meeting.
“During the academic committee deliberations, numerous members, including school deans, center chairs and outside members of the committee, emphasized that CUET will provide a level playing field to ease the burden on the many eligible students from across the country. Take the entrance exam a few times,” read the instructions.
CUET is carried out by the national testing agency and is pushing for implementation in all central universities. The University of Delhi administration has said that they will conduct undergraduate admissions through it from 2022 to 2023.
