Johnny Depp laughs as he says he ‘misses’ the tip of his severed finger

In his ongoing defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp returned to the witness stand on Wednesday. The trial has been ongoing since last month, with testimony from both the actors and several of their witnesses. On Wednesday, Johnny revealed that during a fight with Amber when they were married, he severed the tip of a finger on his right hand. Even though he has previously stated that the incident was traumatic, the actor laughed as he recounted it in court.

Johnny is seen recounting how he injured his hand in a video from the trial that has been streamed online. “As I previously stated, she threw a bottle of vodka at me, smashed it, and cut off the tip of my finger, a good chunk of it,” he said. It’s something I miss.” The actor paused and chuckled, and a few others in the court joined in.

This isn’t the first time Johnny has made a joke during the trial about the incident. When he first described the incident that led to his injury three weeks ago, he jokingly referred to the severed part as ‘Little- Richard.’ “I can’t take responsibility for what I now call little Richard, my chopped finger,” he said, referring to how it was Amber, not him, who was at fault in the fight.

Johnny testified last month that Amber became enraged when he began drinking during their trip to Australia to film a Pirates of the Caribbean film. She shattered his finger with a bottle she hurled at him. He said, “Blood was pouring out.” “I believe I entered some sort of… I’ve never experienced a nervous breakdown, but that’s probably the closest I’ve ever come. He’d said, “Nothing made sense.”

Johnny Depp has sued Amber Heard for $50 million, alleging that she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post article in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. Amber, according to Johnny, was the one who was abusive in their marriage. She countersued for $100 million, claiming that he tarnished her reputation by calling her a liar. The trial has been going on since April and will end on May 27.
