The Bhartiya Janata party ousted a sitting minister from the government in Uttarakhand amid reports he was unhappy and negotiated with Congress. Harak Singh Rawat may soon join the opposition, but he told Sunetra Choudhury that the BJP had forced his hand after years of being ignored and not allowing important promises to be made to voters in the state.
My problem with the party is development, and I have differences with the leadership. The differences were not as severe as when I negotiated with the Congress party, although several of their leaders did contact me. They want me to join them, but that’s not really my plan. I think the BJP overreacting after seeing such reports on social media will prove to be harmful to the party. Pralhad Joshi called me to Delhi to discuss these issues and I was supposed to be there today but they went ahead and made this decision which is unfortunate.
