Days after lashing out at reporters over issues involving Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut now appears to have penned a note for the actor’s latest version, Gehraiyaan. The film, about complex modern relationships, was released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.

On Saturday night, Kangana shared Manoj Kumar and Mala Sinha’s popular song Chand Si Mehbooba Ho Meri from the 1965 film Himalay Ki God Mein on her Instagram Story. The song has Manoj Kumar singing on the banks and adjoining areas while Mala dances around the lehenga. It is sung by legendary singer-songwriter Mukesh. The film revolves around Manoj Kumar’s character Dr. Sunil who, despite being engaged to Dr. Neeta of Shashikala, falls in love with Phoolwa of Mala Sinha in the village.
Casting a shadow on Gehraiyaan, Kangana wrote: “I’m also a millennial, but I identify and understand the romance…in the name of millennials/new age/urban cinema, please don’t sell trash…a bad movie is a bad one No amount of skin show or porn can save it…it’s a basic fact koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai (no depth).

Earlier this month, Kangana launched her new reality show Lock Upp at an event and has since interacted with the media. She lost her cool when a reporter asked her for shaming Deepika’s “skirt and neckline” to an influencer during a Gehraiyaan promotion. Congana rejected her question, saying, “Look, I’m here to protect those who can’t protect themselves. OK? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform, and I can’t promote her film here. .sit down.”
When the reporter denied promoting Gehraiyaan by asking such a question, Kangana went further: “Of course, you named the movie. You were also naming an upcoming movie. Obviously, you were framed by the PR of the movie. Arre yaar, hum itne bhi toh naadaan nahi hai na (I’m not that naive). Do it outside and I’ll talk to you for 45 minutes.”
Kangana has been criticizing Deepika for some time now. She earlier accused her of running a depression “business” with her mental health organisation.
