Kannada Bigg Boss contestant and actress Chaitra Kotoor attempted suicide by consuming phenyl at her residence here on Thursday. Soon after the incident, Chaitra was taken to a local hospital, where her condition is stated to be stable.
Police said Chaitra was married to Mandya businessman Nagarjuna a few days ago.
The actress’s marriage was soon called off after the businessman’s family refused to accept their ties, while the late Nagarjuna himself alleged that he was being “forced” to marry by some groups , Even though she was not interested in marriage.
On March 28, a picture of Chaitra marrying Nagarjuna at a temple went viral, among other photographs of the wedding. She was reportedly in a relationship with Nagarjuna for the past few years, police said.
