Karnataka CM meets Ashwini Vaishnaw, seeks more rakes for supply of coal

On Monday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavavaraj Bommai told Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw that the issue of more rakes for coal supply was discussed.

“The secretary of state will speak to the chairman of the railway bureau on this,” Bomai told media sources after meeting the railway minister.

When asked about the delays in the implementation of the Central Project in the state and the delay in the approval of road and rail projects by the state government, Bommai said: “GST exemption for the STR road project has been approved, issues related to land acquisition are being negotiated, the rail project is being It’s implemented on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis between states,” Bomai told media sources.

He also said that the funds for the railway project are not distributed once a year.

“It is being released on a priority basis in stages. While funds have been released for some railway projects, obstacles to land acquisition sometimes lead to delays. Actions are being taken to address issues related to land acquisition,” he added.

The Chief Minister also met with Federal Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and discussed the COVID-19 situation in the state.

“I have applied for a special grant to strengthen the state’s medical infrastructure and he has agreed,” Bommai said.
