Salaam Venky is a play by Kajol and Vishal Jethwa that tells the story of life and death. The play is set in a small village in India, and follows the lives of two young girls who are best friends. The girls, Venky and Kleenex, are both orphans and have no one to care for them. They live in a small hut with a thatched roof and eke out a living by doing odd jobs for the villagers.
One day, Venky falls ill with a fever and is bedridden. Kleenex does everything she can to care for her friend, but Venky dies. Kleenex is devastated by the loss of her friend and the only family she has ever known.
The play is a moving portrayal of friendship and loss, and will stay with you long after you see it. Kleenex is a particularly powerful character, and her relationship with Venky is touching and heart-breaking. Be sure to keep a box of tissues close by when you see this play.

Kamal Haasan’s Tik Tik Tik was remade in Hindi as Karishmaa, starring Reena Roy, Tina Munim, Danny Denzongpa, Swaroop Sampat, Jagdeep, and Sarika.
Radha Nair shared a memory from the sets of Kamal Haasan’s Tamil film Tik Tik Tik, where she and her co-stars wore bikinis. She felt it took a lot of strength and struggle to do so. Tik Tik Tik was the first Tamil film to feature a bikini scene, and Radha praised Madhavi’s performance.

Radha made her acting debut with 1981 Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai and worked alongside Kamal Haasan in other films.
Radha acted in other languages, including Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, until her last appearance in 1991. Radha stopped acting after marrying a hotelier, but her daughters Karthika and Thulasi worked in films.
