Kiren Rijiju to introduce Election Laws (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha

Federal Law Minister Kiren Rijiju (Kiren Rijiju) is scheduled to introduce the election law (amendment) bill in the House of Commons on Monday. The bill aims to amend the “People’s Representative Act” to allow the use of Aadhaar numbers for voter registration, “to establish proof of identity.” It also proposed to replace the term “wife” with “spouse” so that the People’s Representative Law would be gender-neutral. The bill states that no applications will be rejected, and existing entries in the voter roll will not be deleted because of the inability to submit an Aadhaar number. Other documents will be allowed to be submitted for identification.

In Rajya Sabha, Rijiju plans to introduce a mediation bill aimed at promoting and promoting mediation, especially institutional mediation, to resolve disputes. The proposed law aims to establish a registry of mediators, encourage community mediation and make online mediation an acceptable and cost-effective process.

Federal Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is also expected to introduce the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill in Rajya Sabha. The proposed law is intended to replace the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Ordinance.
