However, Gautam Gambhir had a change of heart and congratulated the Indian captain on his special day. Gambhir was critical of Kohli’s captaincy after Bangladesh’s win in the Asia Cup final, but he had nothing but praise for him following India’s victory. Gambhir said that Kohli has something that other successful captains like Babar Azam and Kane Williamson don’t have. “He has the ability to make a U-turn. He can accept his mistakes and learn from them. That’s a very rare quality and it sets him apart from the rest,” Gambhir said. The former India opener also praised Kohli for his maturity and said that he is always looking to improve as a captain. “He is always looking to improve.
