Kriti Sanon’s co-star Kartik Aaryan posts a video with her, and the rumour mill goes into overdrive, speculating that they are dating. But it’s just another “petty” thing for her to ignore.

And she believes it’s a result of social media’s growing popularity.

“It’s a result of people’s desire for knowledge.” I’m not sure if social media is a good thing or a bad thing that has happened to us. When we ask Sanon about the current rumours, he says, “I have mixed feelings about that.”

“If you ask me about these minor details, I’ll tell you that they don’t bother me at all.” It simply makes you think, “I wish my life was as interesting as it sounded,” she quips.

Sanon is still learning to live with the constant scrutiny on her personal and professional life after eight years in the industry. “I understand that being a celebrity and a well-known face entails this. “However, there are things that irritate and bother you,” Sanon says, adding, “Sometimes things are written about you or you are scrutinised for everything you say.”

Her method of dealing with everything is to draw mental boundaries. “As well as knowing what is important and what isn’t.” Because of social media, I’ve realised that more and more information is required. There has to be something new to post every second, and there are portals that need to produce content. So, as there is more content, there will be more things written about you,” says the Mimi (2021) actor, who has a busy year ahead of her with roles in Shehzada, Ganapath, Bhediya, and Adipurush.

The 31-year-old is also relieved that it fades away more quickly. “Everything that has been written about you is fading away at a faster rate. Since then, the public’s memory has been severely hampered. Good and bad publicity, like success and failure, are fleeting.
