Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was taken to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month, remains in intensive care after testing positive for COVID-19, her spokesman said, news agency ANI reported. On Friday night, a spokesman for the legendary singer issued a statement urging “not to ignore any false news”. “Sincere appeal. Please do not take any false news lightly, Lata Didi is being treated by Dr. Pratit Samdani and his team of doctors in the intensive care unit. Family and doctors need their space,” read a statement from her spokesperson.
Also last week, when reports surfaced that the singer’s health was deteriorating, her spokesperson issued a statement that read: “It is disturbing to see false news being spread. The musical gem of Lata Mangeshkar needs no introduction. She has sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages. Lata Mangeshkar’s last full album was Veer-Zaara, released in Bollywood in 2004. He is a classical musician singer and theatre actor. In Bollywood, Lata Mangeshkar got her first big break with the song Dil Mera Toda in the 1948 film Majboor.
