Lata Mangeshkar To Remain In The ICU Under Observation, Says Doctor

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19 and will remain under observation in the ICU, news agency PTI reported on Saturday. Dr Pratit Samdani, who treated the veteran singer, told PTI, “She continues to be under observation in the intensive care unit. We have to wait and observe. Pray for her recovery. She will remain in the hospital.” The singer tested positive for Covid-19 After being admitted to the hospital, he was also diagnosed with pneumonia.
On Thursday, the singer’s family said she was doing fine. Her niece Rachana told news agency PTI on Thursday, “She is doing well and we are happy about it. Everyone’s prayers have worked. Please remember our privacy.”

Known as the “Indian Nightingale”, Rata Mangishkar has sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages. During her distinguished career as one of India’s leading musicians, she has won Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke awards as well as several national and film awards. Lata Mangeshkar’s last full album was released for Bollywood in 2004
