Harbhajan Singh couldn’t stop laughing-all thanks to a hilarious case of mistranslation. On Thursday, the former cricketer shared an old post on Twitter in which he wished Virat Kohli a happy birthday. In his 2017 birthday greetings, Harbhajan Singh called Kohli his “other mother’s brother.” However, a Hindi-language newspaper misunderstood his tweets and reported that Harbhajan Singh referred to Virat Kohli as his “second mother”.
“Happy birthday @imVkohli, I’m from another mother’s brother,” Harbhajan Singh wrote for Virat Kohli in 2017. However, the newspaper reported that Harbhajan referred to Kohli as his second mother in his birthday message. The title is: “Bhajji ne Kohli ko dusri maa kaha”.
Harbhajan shared a series of smiley emojis when he posted his birthday message and mistranslated headline side by side on Twitter.
