Construction group Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said on Sunday that it has set up quarantine centers for its 2.5 lakh contract workers and 45,000 employees amid the outbreak of Covid-19.
L&T said that it has established quarantine centers in many places from eastern to southern India. While 144 hospitals have also been compromised to provide medical care to the infected employees.
A company official said that L&T has converted many of its manufacturing facilities into quarantine centers to provide contracted laborers and employees with safe, necessary equipment and a clean environment.
The company’s chief executive chairman and managing director SN Subramanian told PTI-language that the move is aimed at providing safe and hygienic environment to Corona-infected employees at well-prepared quarantine centers. It also has facilities for medical supplies, clean environment, nutritious food and nursing workers. “
The company has partnered with 144 hospitals across Kolkata, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi Mumbai, and other thirty cities across the country to provide facilities to employees and contract laborers.
