Madhya Pradesh’s Covid-19 total reached 8,94,159 on Sunday after 11,253 cases were detected, a health department official said, while the reported death toll rose to 10,570 in the past 24 hours with eight deaths.
He noted that the positivity rate was 13.4% for the second day in a row. After 5,497 discharges during the day, the number of recoveries was 8,16,453, bringing the state’s active total to 67,136, he said.
He said Indore and Bhopal, the two worst-affected cities in Madhya Pradesh, recorded 3,372 and 1,910 cases respectively in the past 24 hours. The official added that with 83,365 samples checked on Sunday, the number of MP’s tests rose to 2,53,14,005. The state has so far administered 10,86,29,916 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, including 20,749 on Sunday, a government statement said.
