Allies of MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) won 73 of the 144 Panchayat Samiti seats. Ashok Chavan, Minister of Maharashtra PWD in the National Assembly, stated that due to the retention of (work and education) and OBC political quotas (other backward classes) in Maratha. “Whether it is the Maratha reservation or the OBC political reservation, the BJP applies double standards every time. When the central government has the opportunity to play a decisive role in maintaining these reservations, the BJP did not make the right decision,” Chavan said.
The minister in charge of the Cabinet Subcommittee on Maratha Quotas stated that out of the 85 vacant seats in the ZP, Congress had 13 members earlier but has now won 17 seats. He said that Maha Vikas Aghadi’s allies won 46 ZP seats this time, compared to 37 before, even though they voted separately. On the other hand, Chawan said that the BJP’s seats have dropped from 31 to 22, while Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s seats have dropped from 12 to 8.
The leader of the People’s Party, Devendra Fadnavis, said the poll results showed who is growing at the expense of Shiv Sena and how the foundation of the party led by Uddhav Thackeray has further declined. The former chief minister claimed that the BJP has been growing steadily in the state.
