After the formation of the government in a hurry in Maharashtra, the matter is now in the court after the Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena moved the Supreme Court against the Governor’s decision on Saturday. During the hearing of the case on Sunday, the Supreme Court has directed Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to recommend the removal of President’s rule in the state and to produce a letter by Monday morning inviting Devendra Fadnavis to form the government.
President’s rule was removed from the state at 5.47 am on Saturday morning and Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra while Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. A day before this, NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena announced to form a government together.
