In an event attended by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath in the Basti district, a so-called major safety blunder, a man with a revolver entered the auditorium a few minutes before his arrival on Tuesday.
Although the person was quickly taken out of the auditorium, at least four police officers were suspended on Thursday due to lax work. Earlier this week, Adityanath participated in a project at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium in the Basti District.
Local police stations and personnel from other areas were deployed to perform security tasks. Approximately 45 minutes before the arrival of the Chief Minister, Jatshankar Shukla, a representative from the Gaur neighbourhood, arrived at the scene.
According to a report, Shukla’s younger brother Amardeep’s brother-in-law Jitendra Pandey also entered the auditorium with his licensed revolver, but was later pulled out by police officers present. Basti SP Ashish Srivastava told, “There is a VIP event for the Chief Minister in the Basti district.
Forty-five minutes before his arrival, a man brought his licensed revolver into the auditorium; the attendant on duty saw him. ” He said that the man was later taken out of the auditorium and his identity was determined. Considering that the gunman successfully entered the auditorium where the high-profile event was held, some police roles quickly entered the scene.
