Eight fire tenders rushed to the scene after a massive fire broke out at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Punjab’s Amritsar on Saturday afternoon, dousing the fire and evacuating patients. There have been no reported casualties.
The fire started in a transformer, according to Fire Officer Lovepreet Singh. “The fire has been put out. There have been no reported injuries “he said.
“The matter will be investigated,” Punjab minister Harbhajan Singh said after visiting the fire site.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted in response to the incident, “It was reported that a fire broke out at Guru Nanak Hospital in Amritsar. The fire department is on high alert. Because of God’s grace, no casualties were reported. Minister Harbhajan Singh has arrived at his destination. I keep a close eye on the relief efforts.”
