Kabir Khan’s 83 is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix India. The film was released last year in December. Omicron virus affected the film’s box office numbers but it didn’t do poorly, said Mini Mathur. The film is one of the best films to come out of Kabir Bhatnagar and Ranveersingh’s collection. India’s first iconic World Cup victory was captured in the film. Mini said that she was thrilled that the people of all age can watch it together. One person commented on her post, “Lol the movie didn’t do poorly because of Omicron.”
Twitter user wrote that 83 was released a week before Spider-Man and Pushpa, both of which were box office hits. “If Omicron was such a big issue in India impacting the movie business, the competitor movies surely would have flopped,” read one comment. 83 underperformed at the box office in India and overseas. The film minted a total of ₹193.73 crore nett worldwide. Kabir Ahmed’s film tells us how most Indians never believed that India could win the World Cup. Review by Hindustan Times says film shows how a game of cricket can take precedence over communal violence and bring people from all strata of society under one roof.
