After the Supreme Court ruling approved the construction of Ram Temple on November 9, 2019, the land in Ayodhya is the main real estate.
Although the official Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust (founded in February 2020) has acquired nearly 70 acres of land so far, private buyers are eager to expect substantial gains as the development of the project is gaining momentum. Even the officialdom hopes to profit from it.

An investigation by the Indian Express found that buyers included local provincial legislators, close relatives of bureaucrats who work or are working in Ayodhya, and local tax officials responsible for verifying land transactions.
From the provincial councillor, the mayor, and a member of the state OBC committee who purchased the land in their own name, to the relatives of the district commissioner, district sheriff, deputy police inspector, police chief, and state information commissioner-in 14 cases, India Express investigation records show that the families of these officials purchased land after the Supreme Court’s decision, all within 5 kilometers of the Ram Temple site.
One group of transactions raised conflicts of interest issues because in five cases, the Maharshi Ramayan Vidyapeeth Trust (MRVT) was scrutinized by the same official for alleged violations in purchasing land from Dalit villagers. Relatives bought land.
