Back in early December, Motorola took the wraps off the Edge X30 flagship for the Chinese market, launching it as the first phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Meanwhile, it is rumored to be coming to global markets (including India) under a different name: Motorola Edge 30 Pro.
Now, a new rumor from a usually reliable tipster says the device will launch in India and other international markets sometime in February. Interestingly – or rather, oddly – it might have a different name in India. So it will be the Edge X30 in China, the Edge 30 Pro in most global markets, and the rest in India. That must be an interesting strategy.
The global Edge 30 Pro will likely have more color options than the China-only Edge X30, which only comes in black and white.
Whenever it is finally released, the global phone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch 1080×2400 144 Hz OLED touchscreen, 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage, triple rear camera system (50 MP main with OIS, 50 MP ultra-wide , 2 MP depth sensor), a 60 MP selfie camera (which may or may not be of the under-display kind), and a 5,000 mAh battery with 68W fast charging (which promises to go from zero to 100 percent in 35 minutes). It should run Android 12 from day one.
